Cultivating Inner Aliveness in the Four

2nd Half of Life Stages

  1. We begin with the 7 Tasks of Midlife
  2. Explore the 8 Passages (Developmental hurdles we face);
  3. Observe how your Enneagram patterns impede Inner Aliveness and learn practices for relaxing reactivity.
  4. Explore 10 Practices for Conscious Aging
  5. Learn and practice Embodied Wisdom in all 3 Centers.
  6. Learn and Practice the 4 Consents.
  7. Share your experience with others consciously practicing in the 2nd Half of Life (if you're in one of the LIVE sessions).


In these 5 Sessions, we look at the
8 Passages we pass through as humans. Our main focus will be on the 4 Passages in the 2nd Half of Life.

We then explore Cynthia Bourgeault's 10 Practices for Conscious Aging

Between sessions, you listen/read carefully selected videos, podcasts and written reflections chosen by Leslie and Sarah. 

 Our aim is to:

Understand, accept and live into Your Current Developmental Passage and LEARN from it even though it feels wild and unfamiliar. Observe your past passages and discover how they shaped your current being.

PRACTICE building an inner aliveness in all 3 Centers: Head, Heart and Body. Like the shimmering dragonfly in the image who went into the depths of water and died to his old self and came alive, we can consciously participate with our external hurdles while our subtle inner aliveness becomes more vibrant.

Accept full agency and INTEGRATE it consciously into your Being.

CONNECT with others who want to step into the 2nd Half of Life with a sense of meaning, connection and awareness. Finding compadres on this path matters. Bring a friend.

3 OPTIONS:

  1. IN PERSON CLASS: Limit 12 participants. Register early.
    Note: Leslie's office classroom is on the 3rd floor with no elevator. Parking is paid behind the building OR on-street. You can find free parking if you're willing to take a short walk.

  2. ONLINE CLASS: Limit 12 participants

  3. ASYNCHRONOUS CLASS: Recorded teachings, practices, video/podcast links. No access to private participant sharing (We encourage you to find someone else taking the class so you can talk through these teachings and practices. It helps with support and digesting the material).

Leslie Hershberger

Leslie Hershberger: With over two decades dedicated to fostering growth and navigating transformations, Leslie brings a wealth of experience to the Thresholds course.

She has been guiding individuals through significant life transitions, particularly those in midlife.

At the heart of her teaching lies a commitment to 3-Centered Awareness and Practice—a principle that merges somatic, emotional, and perceptual intelligences to cultivate conscious living, relational capacity and presence.

This approach is deeply interwoven with her expertise in the Enneagram, Contemplative Wisdom, and grief and loss work, all aimed at supporting individuals as they cross new thresholds in their lives.

Her passion is not only rooted in her academic background, including a Master's in theology and multiple certifications in Enneagram, Somatics and Integral Theory, but also in hands-on experience with diverse groups—from women's groups, physicians, groups moving through addiction, mixed executive peer groups and finally spiritual communities and business facing transitions.
